Information Part 1
Pharmacists, nurses, and nurse practitioners who manage critically ill patients.
Critical care practice & related pharmacotherapy encompasses a wide variety of disease states. New developments challenge the practitioner to stay abreast of emerging therapies & novel treatment strategies. This conference will focus on clinical controversies or novel therapies across the gamut of critical care medicine. Highlighted educational topics will include “Stop the Bleeding: Unique Case(s) for Antithrombotic Reversal”, “Workload, Quality, Burnout: Improving the Lives of Patients and Providers Through Interprofessional Collaboration”, “Applying PADIS to our ICU Patients: Pharmacological Considerations and Pitfalls in Analgesia, Sedation, Delirium and Sleep”, “Narcotic Avoidance Strategies and Analgesic Adjuncts in Critically Ill Patients”.
Additionally a pediatric track has been added with highlighted educational topics including “Delirium in the Pediatric ICU”, “Collaborating with a Parent Advocate While Caring for a Medically Complex Child in the ICU”, “The Anticoagulation Tool Kit for Pediatric ECMO”, “From Guidelines to the Bedside: Pediatric Sepsis Bundles and Trigger Tools”, and “Pediatric Renal Replacement Therapies: Drug Dosing and Other Considerations”.
Registration Fee: $75.00
Registration Deadline: Friday, August 16, 2019
Registration fee includes a continental breakfast, boxed lunch, parking validation, networking reception, and up to 6.25 contact hours (0.625 CEUs) of continuing pharmacy education credits or up to 6.25 contact hours of continuing nursing education credits. Advanced practice nurses may count a total of 5.0 contact hours (Adult Track) or 4.5 contact hours (Pediatric Track) for the pharmacotherapeutic educational requirement. Paper handouts will not be provided. Handouts will be provided electronically for attendees to download and print before the conference.
All audience response questions, such as pre- and post-tests and active learning questions, will be conducted via the internet. Attendees must bring a smartphone, tablet, or laptop to this conference in order to participate in these activities and earn CE credits.
Space is limited and early registration is encouraged.
